All models include time code (TC) generation and reading, as well as correctors for time base functions. The UVW VTRs display user-friendly menus and streamlined controls. The UVW-1800 editing recorder/player does the most: inserts, two-audio channel recording, digital dropout compensation and numerous output and input options. The UVW-1600 editing player, UVW-1400 recorder/player, and UVW-1200 player are less powerful but still come with Betacam technology, which uses separate tracks for brightness and color to record and playback images.
